Microchipping
Permanent identification to help bring your lost pet home
Why Microchip Your Pet?
A microchip is a tiny electronic device, about the size of a grain of rice, that is implanted under your pet's skin. It contains a unique identification number that can be read by a scanner. This number is registered in a national database with your contact information.
If your pet is lost and found by a veterinarian or animal shelter, they can scan for a microchip and use the ID number to contact you. Microchipping dramatically increases the chances of being reunited with your lost pet - studies show that microchipped pets are significantly more likely to be returned home.
